This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants, principals, Islamic Religious Education teachers, inclusion assistant teachers, and hyperactive students. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that teachers adjust learning through the differentiation of content, processes, and products according to the needs of hyperactive students. The delivery of material is carried out concretely and is associated with the daily life of students. Teachers also use hands-on practice, songs, individual approaches, and repetition of material so that students can understand learning more easily. Learning assessments not only focus on final grades, but also pay attention to the development of students' abilities during the learning process. The obstacles faced by teachers are students who find it difficult to focus, need more attention, and classroom management that is not fully conducive. To overcome this, teachers apply a patient approach, give personal attention, and instill an empathetic attitude to other students so that learning continues to run well.
Wardatun Nisa, Zainol Hasan Copyright (c) 2026 Wardatun Nisa, Zainol Hasan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/117 Thu, 01 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Learning Creative Dance Through Audio Visual Media in Class XI MAN 1 Palembang https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/158
This study aims to determine the process of learning creative dance through audio-visual media in class XI MAN 1 Palembang. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were art and culture teachers and class XI students of MAN 1 Palembang. The results of the study indicate that the use of audio-visual media can help students understand dance movements, increase learning interest, and make it easier for students to practice creative dance. The media used was a dance video displayed via mobile phone during the learning process. The teacher explained the material theoretically, then students watched the dance video and then practiced the dance movements in groups. The use of audio-visual media has a positive impact on learning because students become more active, enthusiastic, and easier to understand the material. In addition, audio-visual media helps teachers deliver material more interestingly and effectively. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that learning creative dance through audio-visual media in class XI MAN 1 Palembang went well and helped increase students' interest and understanding in learning dance.
Talia Syahnia, Deria Sepdwiko, Efita Elvandari Copyright (c) 2026 Talia Syahnia Talia Syahnia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/158 Sat, 13 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Mixed Ensemble Learning Through the Problem Based Learning Model in Grade VII of SMP Negeri 4 Batang Hari Leko Muba https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/156
This study aims to determine the learning process of mixed ensembles using the Problem-Based Learning model in seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Batang Hari Leko, Muba.
Darsini, Husin Copyright (c) 2026 Nazwar Muslan, Sukmawati, Mukhlis https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/182 Mon, 15 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Engrang Patok as a Physical-Motor Stimulation Strategy in Early Childhood https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/183
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Al-Miftah Lil Ulum method in learning the yellow book in the Al-Azhar Pare Kediri Arab Village Advanced Book Program (Maktab). The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were obtained through participatory observation of around ten meetings, in-depth interviews with three teachers and five students who were selected purposively, and documentation analysis. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, while the validity of the data was strengthened through triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study show that the Al-Miftah Lil Ulum method is effective in improving the ability to read the yellow book through four main aspects, namely increasing the mastery of nahwu-sharaf, the ability to read the yellow book, motivation and learning engagement, and the success of applying the method to participants with heterogeneous backgrounds. The novelty of this research lies in the finding that the Al-Miftah Lil Ulum method, which has been widely studied in the formal pesantren environment, is also effectively applied to non-formal Arabic language courses that are intensive. Theoretically, these findings expand the understanding of the adaptability of the yellow book learning method outside the context of Islamic boarding schools. Practically and policyly, the results of this research can be a reference for the development of yellow book literacy programs in non-formal Islamic educational institutions.

Ahmad Saeful Ahyar, Syarif Maulidi, Memed Khumaedi Copyright (c) 2026 Ahmad Saeful Ahyar, Syarif Maulidi, Memed Khumaedi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/244 Mon, 22 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Improving Children’s Fine Motor Skills Through Finger Painting Activities in Kindergarten https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/247
Amid this transformation, Islamic Education Management (IEM) faces challenges related not only to institutional digitalization but also to the sustainability, relevance, and future existence of its science. To date, most research has focused on the use of AI in learning and the digital transformation of educational institutions, while studies specifically addressing the sustainability strategy for IEM in the AI era are still limited. This study aims to analyze strategies for adapting and strengthening the scientific existence of Islamic Education Management through a future-proofing perspective as a new paradigm for scientific sustainability. The study used a qualitative approach with a literature review design (library research) sourced from reputable scientific articles, academic books, and international and national policy documents published in the 2020–2026 period. Data were analyzed through content analysis, thematic analysis, and narrative synthesis. The results indicate that Islamic Education Management requires a paradigm shift from an administrative approach to an adaptive, strategic, and future-oriented scientific system. AI is not positioned as a substitute for Islamic values, but rather as an accelerator that strengthens educational governance and decision-making capacity. This study also identifies five future competencies: digital leadership, AI literacy, data-driven decision-making, adaptive governance, and ethical Islamic governance. Furthermore, this study produces a conceptual model of the Future-Proofing Islamic Educational Management Framework (FPIEM), which integrates scientific adaptation, adaptive governance, academic existence, and the social impact of Islamic education in a sustainable manner. The main contribution of this research lies in the introduction of the future-proofing paradigm as a new approach to strengthening the sustainability of Islamic Education Management in the era of Artificial Intelligence. Further research is recommended to empirically test this model in various Islamic educational institutions
Achmad Nashrul Wahib, Ardiyansyah Ardiyansyah, Ahmad Rahman Budiman, Mokhammad Zainuri, Syamsul Anam, Mirdawati, Maulidyah Fitriah Copyright (c) 2026 Achmad Nashrul Wahib, Ardiyansyah Ardiyansyah, Ahmad Rahman Budiman, Mokhammad Zainuri, Syamsul Anam, Mirdawati, Maulidyah Fitriah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/236 Tue, 23 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of Public Relations Management in Building the Image of Madrasah in Man 2 Pekanbaru https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/260
Public relations management (PR) is one of the strategic functions in educational institutions that plays a role in building a positive image, establishing communication with the community, and strengthening relationships with various stakeholders. Public sector competence has commonly been viewed as a prerequisite for bureaucratic effectiveness, public sector innovation, and accountable service delivery. However, in complex public organizations, competence does not automatically lead to good governance when it is not guided by integrity, accountability, and effective oversight. This study employs a conceptual method with a theory-building approach to develop a theoretical framework explaining the relationship between competence, administrative capability, integrity, accountability, and corruption risk. Drawing on literature in public administration, fraud theory, public integrity, accountability, and digital governance, this article proposes the Capability–Integrity Equilibrium Theory (CIET). CIET argues that administrative capability is ambivalent: it can generate public value when directed by a strong ethical governance filter, but it can also turn into corruption capability when embedded in weak ethical environments. The main contribution of this study lies in extending the concept of capability from an individual attribute in the Fraud Diamond into an institutional capacity shaped by positional experience, structural authority, access to information, actor networks, and mastery of organizational procedures. The article argues that public sector reform should not focus solely on improving bureaucratic competence, but must also establish equilibrium among capability, integrity, accountability, and oversight to ensure that competence remains aligned with the public interest.
Ismail Ismail Copyright (c) 2026 Ismail Ismail https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/291 Sat, 04 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Costume and Properties of the Kedidi Dance in the Perang Ketupat Traditional Ceremony https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/290
This study aims to describe and analyze the costume and props of the Kedidi Dance in the Perang Ketupat Traditional Ceremony, developed by the Limaupurut Studio. The Kedidi Dance is a traditional dance that has grown and developed within the community as a medium for cultural expression and a means of preserving local values. Costume and props are important elements in dance performances because they play a role in strengthening the character, symbolic meaning, and aesthetic value of the performance. However, studies that discuss these two elements in depth are still limited, so this study focuses on revealing the form, function, and meaning contained within them. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive picture of the costume and props of the Kedidi Dance. The research results show that the Kedidi Dance's costume and props are adapted to the dance's character and Bangka Belitung's cultural identity. Furthermore, the props used serve not only as visual support but also as symbols that reinforce the meaning of the dance's movements and concepts. The findings revealed that students' learning difficulties were categorized as moderate, with mean scores of 2.69 for logical thinking and problem-solving skills and 3.06 for conceptual understanding. In contrast, students' self-efficacy was categorized as low, with a mean score of 2.05. These findings indicate a discrepancy between the cognitive and affective domains, where relatively adequate conceptual understanding is not accompanied by strong self-efficacy. Difficulties in logical thinking and problem-solving appear to reduce students' confidence in their ability to perform mathematical tasks, which subsequently limits their participation in classroom learning. It can therefore be concluded that learning difficulties influence not only students' cognitive development but also their affective domain, particularly their self-efficacy. These findings suggest that mathematics instruction should focus not only on strengthening conceptual understanding but also on enhancing students' self-efficacy to encourage more active, confident, and meaningful learning.
Muqsitulqadri Syarif, Murniati. Differences in temporal, social, cultural, and civilizational contexts between the Prophet Muhammad’s era and modern life require a methodological process of interpretation so that hadith can be understood accurately. This article examines the scientific foundations, interpretive techniques, and relevance of hadith interpretation in responding to contemporary social dynamics. The study employs library research by reviewing works on hadith sciences, usul al-fiqh, classical commentaries, and contemporary scholarship. The findings indicate that hadith interpretation must begin with verification of the chain of transmission and text, mastery of Arabic, understanding of asbab al-wurud and socio-historical context, integration with the Qur’an and related hadiths, and orientation toward maqasid al-shari‘ah. Interpretive techniques include textual, contextual, historical, linguistic, thematic, comparative, and carefully controlled hermeneutical approaches. These approaches preserve the authenticity of hadith while enabling its relevance to digital economy, artificial intelligence, bioethics, human rights, environmental issues, and plural societies. A comprehensive interpretation also prevents partial, rigid, and extreme readings of religious texts.

Irmiani, Sitti Asiqah Usman Ali, Tasbih Copyright (c) 2026 irmiani, Sitti Asiqah Usman Ali, Tasbih https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/337 Thu, 16 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Singing Learning Method on Improving the Mastery of Arabic Mufrodat in Students of Baitul Qur'an Siraajunnur East Aceh https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/336

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the singing learning method (ghina') on increasing mastery of Arabic language mufrodat among students at Pondok Baitul Qur'an Siraajunnur, East Aceh, a Tahfiz Islamic boarding school context whose learning characteristics are still rarely studied in mufrodat research based on singing methods. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group model, involving an experimental group (n = 20) who received mufrodat learning through singing methods and a control group (n = 15) who received conventional methods (lectures and memorization). Data was collected through pre-test and post-test with equivalent instruments, then analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, Welch's t-test on gain scores, Hake's N-Gain, and Cohen's d effect size. The research results showed that the experimental group experienced an average increase of 19.29 points (28.13%), from 68.57 (pre-test) to 87.86 (post-test), with a medium N-Gain category (0.614). The control group was relatively stable without a significant increase in average (80.00 versus 80.00; N-Gain = 0.000, low category). The difference in gain between the two groups was proven to be statistically significant (Welch's t-test, t = 2.199; df = 22.31; p = 0.039) with the effect size being classified as medium to large (d = 0.660). These findings indicate that the singing method is more effective than conventional methods in improving tahfiz students' mastery of Arabic mufrodat, without increasing the cognitive load of students who already have intensive Al-Qur'an memorization activities. This research enriches empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of music-based learning in the context of Tahfiz Islamic boarding schools, which has not been widely studied so far.
Putri Balqis Amanda, Syarif Maulidin, Wakib Kurniawan, Memed Khumaedi Copyright (c) 2026 Putri Balqis Amanda, Syarif Maulidin, Wakib Kurniawan, Memed Khumaedi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/336 Thu, 16 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Role of Individual Counseling Services in Transforming Social Relationships of Isolated Students: A Qualitative Study in School Environments https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/343

Abstract

Healthy social relationships are one indicator of successful student development in the school environment. However, some students experience social isolation characterized by low interaction with peers, lack of participation in group activities, and minimal social acceptance from the surrounding environment. These conditions have the potential to hinder students' personal, social, and academic development. This study aims to describe the condition of students' social relationships based on sociometry results, identify factors that cause social isolation, and analyze the role of individual counseling services in supporting the transformation of students' social relationships. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were obtained through the distribution of sociometry to 24 students in one class, observation, and interviews with one Guidance and Counseling teacher. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was strengthened by source triangulation and technical triangulation techniques. The results showed that most students have good social relationships, but there are still some students with low levels of social acceptance who have the potential to experience social isolation. Social isolation is influenced by the dynamics of friendship groups, limited ability to interact, and students' adjustment in the school environment. Individual counseling services play a role in assisting students through a personalized approach, providing ongoing attention and support, thereby supporting the development of students' social relationships. This study concluded that sociometric data can be used as a basis for identifying student needs, allowing for more targeted individual counseling services to support students' social development.
Muhammad Jauhari Ramadhan, Kurnia Wahyuli, Baiq Mahyatun, Rabiatun Adawiyah, Widiyanti, M. Data collection techniques include observation, literature study, and questionnaires. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire with a validity score of 0.887 and a reliability score of 0.844. The study population consisted of 40 beginner students, with the sample selected using purposive sampling, resulting in a research sample of 40 subjects. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive statistics with the help of SPSS to process the questionnaire results. The analysis was done by calculating the average and percentage to find out the feasibility, practicality, and user response to the developed product. The results of this study show that: 1) students' responses to the exercise sheets in all assessment aspects had an average score of 4.2, with a rating of “agree” and practicality criteria rated as practical, and the average practicality score presentation of 84% was categorized as good; 2) Meanwhile, in the teacher evaluation, the average score was 4.18 and the practicality score was 83.6%, which falls into the “good” category. So based on the research results, it can be concluded that the leaflet on basic pointing and shooting techniques in petanque meets the practical criteria for use as a learning media. This finding implies that leaflets can be a practical alternative learning tool to support the learning process and help teachers and students understand the basic pointing and shooting techniques in a more systematic way.
Ali Munir Copyright (c) 2026 Ali Munir https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/272 Wed, 22 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Digital Literacy Gamification: The Effectiveness of Crossword Puzzles (TTS) in Improving Students' Digital Security Understanding https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/192
The digital age demands digital literacy skills that include the ability to access, evaluate and utilise information critically and responsibly. This study developed Enrekang sociocultural-based interactive multimedia for Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) and examined its feasibility, practicality, and preliminary association with students’ cultural literacy. A Research and Development design using the ADDIE model was implemented with one media expert, one subject-matter expert, one classroom practitioner, a nine-student small-group trial, and 35 fifth-grade students in the field implementation. The multimedia was developed with Articulate Storyline 3 and incorporated local cultural content, audio-video resources, interactive navigation, games, and automatically scored evaluation items. The overall expert-validation mean was 4.20/5, while practicality scores were 4.06 in the small-group trial and 4.51 in the field trial. Reanalysis of item-level responses showed that cultural literacy increased from M = 53.29 (SD = 8.90) to M = 68.66 (SD = 7.14). Difference scores were normally distributed (Shapiro-Wilk W = .976, p = .619), and the paired-samples test indicated a significant within-group increase, t(34) = 10.289, p < .001, 95% CI [12.34, 18.41], dz = 1.74. The multimedia is feasible and practical and is associated with higher cultural-literacy scores; however, the one-group design does not permit strong causal inference.
Rahmayana, Masnur, Saleha Copyright (c) 2026 Rahmayana, Masnur, Saleha https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/391 Thu, 13 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Using Animated Audio-Visual Media on Student Learning Outcomes Regarding the Excretory System Topic for Grade VIII Junior High School Students https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/394
This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of animated audio-visual media on students' learning outcomes in the excretory system topic among Grade VIII students at SMP Plus Miftahul Huda Tegalmulya. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach through systematic literature review, the research synthesizes theoretical frameworks from organizational behavior and Islamic educational management to analyze how these three variables manifest, interact, and shape institutional outcomes in both contexts. The findings reveal that values, attitudes, and job satisfaction form a sequential causal chain whose alignment or misalignment directly determines performance quality, organizational citizenship behavior, and turnover intention. While LPU relies on professional regulations and measurable reward structures, LPI adds a transcendent motivational layer rooted in Qur'anic principles of amanah, ikhlas, and ihsan. However, LPI faces a critical vulnerability when spiritual idealism is exploited to justify material deprivation. The study concludes that neither institutional model is self-sufficient and proposes a three-tier strategic framework integrating value alignment, exemplary leadership, and justice-based welfare to strengthen organizational behavior sustainably.
Jamrizal, Rina Darmaiza, Sarah Ayu Syafira, Suparno Copyright (c) 2026 Jamrizal, Rina Darmaiza, Sarah Ayu Syafira, Suparno https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/387 Fri, 14 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effect of a Video-Assisted Guided Inquiry Learning Model on Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in Sociology https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/408
Students’ limited critical thinking skills remain a significant challenge in improving the quality of learning, particularly in sociology, which requires students to critically and systematically analyze various social phenomena. This study aims to examine the effect of a video-assisted guided inquiry learning model on students’ critical thinking skills in sociology. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Narmada, with two classes selected as the experimental and control groups through simple random sampling. Data on students’ critical thinking skills were collected using essay-based test instruments and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings revealed that students in the experimental group demonstrated improved critical thinking skills after participating in learning activities using the video-assisted guided inquiry model. Students in the experimental group also demonstrated better critical thinking skills than those in the control group. Statistical analysis confirmed significant differences in students’ critical thinking skills before and after the intervention, as well as between the experimental and control groups. These findings indicate that the video-assisted guided inquiry learning model has a positive and significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills. The integration of guided inquiry activities and video-based learning encourages students to become more actively engaged in observing, identifying problems, analyzing information, and drawing logical conclusions. Therefore, the video-assisted guided inquiry learning model can serve as an effective alternative instructional approach for developing students’ critical thinking skills in sociology learning.
Suci Ramdani, Sukardi, Jepri Utomo Copyright (c) 2026 Suci Ramdani, Sukardi, Jepri Utomo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/408 Tue, 18 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Discovery Learning and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Models for Learning Motivation and Critical Thinking Skills of Grade VII Students at SMPN 8 Lebong https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/417
This study aimed to examine the differences in the effects of Discovery Learning, Problem Based Learning (PBL), and conventional learning models on students’ learning motivation and critical thinking skills in seventh-grade mathematics classes at SMP Negeri 8 Lebong. Preliminary observation at TK Muamalah Kepahiang showed that geometry was introduced mainly through visual memorisation of basic shapes, without structured problem-solving scenarios. This study aimed to develop a Geometry Traffic Board learning medium based on unplugged coding that is valid and practical for fostering the logical thinking of Group B children. The research used a research and development design following the ADDIE model, limited to four stages: analyse, design, develop, and evaluate. Participants comprised two content-expert validators, two media-expert validators, kindergarten teachers as practitioner respondents, six children in the limited trial, and eighteen children in the field trial, all at TK Muamalah Kepahiang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and structured observation of four logical thinking indicators, and were analysed as percentages against validity and practicality criteria. Content-expert validation reached 95% and media-expert validation 93%, both highly valid. Teacher responses reached 94% in the limited trial and 95% in the field trial, both highly practical, while children's logical thinking attainment reached 94% and 95% respectively. The medium is therefore declared valid and practical for fostering logical thinking in early childhood.
Elis Hamida, Nopriyeni Nopriyeni, Mariana Ade Cahaya Copyright (c) 2026 Elis Hamida, Nopriyeni Nopriyeni, Mariana Ade Cahaya https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/409 Tue, 25 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Social Interaction, Social Recognition, and Fear of Missing Out among Beginner Climbers on Mount Sibayak https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/434
This study examines social interactions among climbers, the dynamics of social recognition, and the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on novice climbers’ decision-making in participating in climbing activities at Mount Sibayak. Mountain climbing has developed not only as a recreational and sporting activity but also as a space for social interaction and identity formation within climbing communities. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The participants consisted of ten novice climbers, comprising six females and four males, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that social interaction among novice climbers is formed through communication, information exchange, cooperation, mutual assistance, and participation in collective activities. These interactions facilitate adaptation, social acceptance, and the development of a sense of belonging within the climbing community. Social media also plays an important role by providing exposure to climbing experiences, encouraging social comparison, and facilitating the pursuit of social recognition through digital responses. Such conditions contribute to the emergence of FOMO, particularly when novice climbers perceive themselves as being left behind by their peers' activities and experiences. Furthermore, FOMO influences decision-making by encouraging novice climbers to participate in climbing activities in order to maintain social involvement, obtain similar experiences, and avoid feelings of exclusion. The study concludes that FOMO among novice climbers is not solely associated with social media use but also emerges from the interaction between digital experiences, social recognition, social comparison, and direct involvement in the climbing community. Therefore, participation decisions should remain grounded in physical preparedness, adequate planning, and safety considerations.
Sarah Nadia Hsb, Yummy Jumiati Marsa Copyright (c) 2026 Sarah Nadia Hsb, Yummy Jumiati Marsa https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/434 Thu, 27 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effect of Gamma AI-Based Learning Media on Indonesian Language Learning Outcomes of Eighth-Grade Students at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Pitu Riase https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/442
Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis Gamma AI terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas VIII UPT SMP Negeri 3 Pitu Riase, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang. A qualitative approach with a descriptive design was used. Informants comprised one principal, thirteen teachers, and eight ninth-grade students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observation, and teacher and student response questionnaires used complementarily, with instruments validated by an educational assessment expert and a language expert at a mean of 82.31% in the valid category. Analysis proceeded through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, reinforced by source and technique triangulation. Implementation was found to be running well, with student responses at 81.71% (very good) and teacher responses at 80.41% (good). Dominant media were laptops and projectors (100%), Canva (88.89%), PowerPoint (66.67%), and YouTube (55.56%), while interactive platforms such as Kahoot! were used by only 22.22% of teachers. Use remains at the substitution level and uneven between teachers, with 55.56% using digital media fortnightly to monthly. The central finding is a gap between the availability of facilities and the regularity of their use, and between high student motivation and low active participation (71.43%). The research used a research and development design following the 4D model of define, design, develop, and disseminate, limited in practice to the develop stage. Data were collected in May–June 2026 through content-, media-, and language-expert validation sheets and teacher and student response questionnaires, and were analysed descriptively as percentages. Twelve students took part in the small-group trial and thirty-four in the limited-group trial. Validation reached 67.69% from the content expert, 74.29% from the media expert, and 94.64% from the language expert, with an overall mean of 78.87% in the valid category. Practicality reached 95.3% from teacher responses and 90% from student responses, both highly practical. The worksheet is therefore suitable as an alternative teaching material in Biology, since it creates active and enjoyable learning, helps students recall scientific terms, and fosters conceptual understanding of animal classification.
Eriyanto Eriyanto, Apriza Fitriani, Mariana Ade Cahaya Copyright (c) 2026 Eriyanto Eriyanto, Apriza Fitriani, Mariana Ade Cahaya https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/421 Wed, 02 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Teachers' Barriers in Utilising Artificial Intelligence in Learning: A Phenomenological Study at an Islamic Primary School https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/425
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly entering Indonesian teaching practice, yet recent national evidence suggests that teachers' technical knowledge and classroom integration remain uneven despite generally positive attitudes. This study examined barriers experienced by teachers in utilising AI in learning at SD IT Darul Fikri, North Bengkulu, and explored how those barriers were experienced and interpreted. A qualitative study with a descriptive phenomenological orientation was conducted. Sixteen classroom and subject teachers served as the primary participants, while an ICT technician, an administrative staff member, the principal, and two foundation managers provided contextual information for triangulation. Data were collected through lesson observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Interview data were organised into significant statements, meaning units, sub-themes, and a synthesis of essential meanings; contextual data were used to corroborate conditions surrounding teachers' experiences. The analysis identified three interrelated barrier categories: competence barriers, infrastructure barriers, and technical-institutional support barriers. Teachers described difficulty formulating precise prompts, basic feature mastery, the need to verify AI outputs, uneven readiness, unstable network coverage, insufficient or unevenly distributed devices, incidental ICT assistance, uncertainty in selecting suitable tools, and a gap between institutional policy and routine classroom use. Across the teacher accounts, four essential meanings were identified: barriers were treated as learning challenges rather than reasons to stop; AI was understood as a support tool rather than a substitute for pedagogical judgement; self-directed learning developed in response to limited mentoring; and verification of AI output was understood as professional responsibility. The findings suggest that where basic AI-supporting infrastructure has been introduced, practical integration may still be constrained by capacity, distribution, competence, and institutionalised support.
Hendry Firmansyah, Adi Asmara, Tomi Hidayat Copyright (c) 2026 Hendry Firmansyah, Adi Asmara, Tomi Hidayat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/425 Wed, 02 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Academic Achievement Among Junior High School Students https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/465
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement among eighth-grade students at SMPN 11 in Kupang City during the 2025/2026 school year. This is a quantitative study using a correlational method. The population consisted of 309 students, and the sample consisted of 77 students. Simple random sampling was used as the sampling technique. The data analysis technique in this study used Spearman’s Rho correlation test. The results of the Spearman’s Rho correlation analysis showed a calculated r value of 0.025, while the table r value at a 5% significance level with N = 77 was 0.224. Since the calculated r-value is less than the table r-value (0.025 < 0.224) and the significance value (Sig., 2-tailed) of 0.830 is greater than 0.05, the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted. A correlation coefficient of 0.025 indicates that the relationship between emotional intelligence and student academic achievement is very weak and positive in direction; that is, an increase in emotional intelligence tends to be accompanied by an increase in academic achievement, though without a significant contribution. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the academic achievement of eighth-grade students at SMPN 11 Kupang for the 2025/2026 school year.
Hilda Kurniaty Takene, Enasely Mega Wenyi Rohi, Matilda Pia Bone Copyright (c) 2026 Hilda Kurniaty Takene, Enasely Mega Wenyi Rohi, Matilda Pia Bone https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/465 Thu, 03 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Role-Playing Techniques Through Group Counseling in Enhancing Students’ Empathy https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/467
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of applying role-playing techniques through group counseling services to enhance empathy among eighth-grade students in Class VIII A at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang during the 2025/2026 school year. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design and was conducted at SDN 18 Deteng Deteng. The participants consisted of the principal and teachers, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal three main results. First, the principal's instructional leadership strategy was realized through digitally oriented lesson planning, including the formulation of the school's vision-mission and digital lesson plans, routine academic supervision conducted every semester, monitoring and evaluation of learning, and the strengthening of academic culture through continuous teacher professional development. Second, teachers' instructional innovation was reflected in the use of digital technology such as Canva and YouTube, increased pedagogical creativity, strengthened digital literacy, and the implementation of learning that is more adaptive to students' needs. Third, supporting factors for instructional leadership included the principal's commitment, teacher motivation, and the availability of learning facilities, while inhibiting factors included limited technological facilities (a restricted number of LCD projectors), unstable internet connectivity, and uneven digital literacy among teachers. The study concludes that principals' instructional leadership plays a significant role in promoting teachers' instructional innovation, thereby enhancing the quality of learning to become more creative, effective, and aligned with the demands of 21st-century education.
Syafitrah Husaipah, Evy Segarawati Ampry, Munawir Anas, Uhwah Hasanah Copyright (c) 2026 Syafitrah Husaipah, Evy Segarawati Ampry, Munawir Anas, Uhwah Hasanah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/480 Fri, 11 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Relationship Between Self-Control and Bullying Behavior Among Eighth-Grade Students https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/477
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-control and bullying behavior among eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year. This practice remains widespread and constitutes a
serious social problem in the area. The study addressed three questions: (1) what factors cause early marriage among adolescents; (2) what impact early marriage has on their marital, family, health, psychological, and social conditions; and (3) how early marriage implicates family guidance and counseling programs. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with 20
research subjects selected through purposive sampling: 10 adolescents who underwent early marriage, 9 parents of the couples,
and 1 village official. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation study, then analyzed through
data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation used to establish data validity. The results show
that early marriage in Oenino Village is driven by three interrelated factors: family economic hardship, weak parental supervision
that in some cases led to premarital pregnancy, and strong customary norms that regard early marriage as ordinary. Early
marriage was found to affect marital relations through conflict and domestic violence, to increase the family's economic burden,
to raise health risks such as postpartum hemorrhage and child stunting, to cause psychological pressure following school dropout, and to restrict adolescents'social freedom, particularly for girls. These findings imply the need for a planned and structured Family Guidance and Counseling program, delivered through collaboration among the village government, customary and religious leaders, and related health and education institutions.
Maria Faustina Titi, Dhiu Margaretha, Enasely Mega Wenyi Rohi Copyright (c) 2026 Maria Faustina Titi, Dhiu Margaretha, Enasely Mega Wenyi Rohi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/497 Mon, 14 Sep 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Applying Self-Management Techniques in Group Counseling to Reduce Academic Procrastination Among Junior High School Students https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/495
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementing the self-management technique through group counseling in reducing academic procrastination behavior among students in classes VIIIC and VIIIE at SMPK St. Theresia Kupang during the 2025/2026 academic year. Technology-based learning media now integrate sophisticated features, offering a learning experience distinct from the past. This article aims to analyze the relationship between the use of such media and students' academic achievement. Furthermore, the study examines the impact on primary users and compares the media's effectiveness against traditional alternatives. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach was adopted as the framework for this literature-based study. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of technology-based learning media in boosting student interest and enhancing academic performance. However, this impact is contingent upon teacher readiness, infrastructure availability, and the alignment of the media with subject matter characteristics and educational levels. Conventional media remain relevant in specific contexts. While the visual appeal and interactivity of technology-based media are often considered superior, certain situations necessitate the use of conventional media due to their ability to provide essential context for the learning process. This study concludes that conventional methods are not automatically superseded by technology-based media innovations; rather, technology is best positioned as a strategic support tool, the integration of which requires judicious application tailored to specific learning needs.
Lela Seftika, Vendyah Trisnaningtyas Copyright (c) 2026 Lela Seftika, Vendyah Trisnaningtyas https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/510 Mon, 05 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of the TGT Model Assisted by “Pancamission” Media to Improve Student Learning Outcomes on the Topic of Norms, Rights, and Obligations in Grade VI at SDN Mojoroto 3 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/509
This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model supported by Pancamission media, focusing on the topic of norms, rights, and obligations. The study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in three stages: pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The subjects were 28 sixth-grade students at SDN Mojoroto 3. Learning outcome data were analyzed quantitatively using average scores and the percentage of classical mastery, based on a Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKTP) of ≥70 and a success indicator of ≥75% for classical mastery. The results indicate an improvement in students' learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle stage, the average score was 64, with a classical mastery rate of 39.29% (11 students meeting the KKTP). Following the implementation of TGT supported by Pancamission in Cycle I, the average score rose to 81, with a classical mastery rate of 78.57% (22 students meeting the KKTP). In Cycle II, the average score increased to 88, with a classical mastery rate of 92.85% (26 students meeting the KKTP). Thus, the implementation of the TGT model supported by Pancamission media effectively improves students' learning outcomes regarding norms, rights, and obligations among sixth-grade students at SDN Mojoroto 3.
Claura Margareta, Ika Santia, Heru Adi Kristiyan Copyright (c) 2026 Claura Margareta, Ika Santia, Heru Adi Kristiyan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/509 Mon, 05 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Improving IPAS Learning Outcomes on the Topic of the Effect of Force on Objects Using the Demonstration Method Assisted by Concrete Objects for Grade IV Students at SDN Mojoroto 3 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/508
This study aimed to develop a student worksheet based on the BESUReK learning model (Baca–Eksplorasi–Susun–Uji–Review–Komunikasi: read, explore, construct, test, review, communicate), which uses the Besurek textile motif of Bengkulu as contextual scaffolding, for the topic of human growth and development, and to determine its validity and practicality. Following the ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) research and development model, the worksheet was validated by content, media, and language experts and trialled with two teachers and fifth-grade students at two public elementary schools in Seluma Regency (limited trial, n = 16; field trial, n = 30). Data were collected through validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, observation, and semi-structured interviews and were analysed descriptively as percentages. The worksheet was rated very valid (content 95.6%, media 94.1%, language 94.3%; mean 94.7%) and very practical (teachers 95.3%, students 90.0%). Observations indicated active discussion and questioning, although some students struggled to interpret instructions and draw conclusions without teacher guidance. The BESUReK-based worksheet is feasible as a culturally grounded resource for elementary science learning; its effect on science literacy requires experimental testing.
Diyoba Azhar Fuadi, Merri Sri Hartati, Adi Asmara Copyright (c) 2026 Diyoba Azhar Fuadi, Merri Sri Hartati, Adi Asmara https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/513 Wed, 07 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Procedurally Compliant but Educationally Incomplete: Implementation of the Education Component of Indonesia’s Family Hope Program in a Rural Village of Mukomuko Regency https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/514
Indonesia’s Family Hope Program (Program Keluarga Harapan, PKH) is a conditional cash transfer that requires beneficiary families to keep school-age children enrolled with at least 85% attendance, yet irregular attendance and dropout persist among beneficiary children. This study analysed the implementation of the PKH education component in Tunggal Jaya Village, Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu, and identified why its education targets were not fully achieved. A descriptive qualitative case study was conducted from February to March 2026. Data came from semi-structured in-depth interviews with purposively selected village officials, PKH facilitators, a PKH group leader, school staff, parents, and children from beneficiary families, supported by observation and document analysis, and were analysed interactively with source, method, and time triangulation. Administratively, the programme followed procedure: quarterly disbursement through the post office, monthly family development sessions, and monitoring by facilitators. The assistance eased school costs and raised parental awareness. Substantively, however, of 25 beneficiary students at the local junior secondary school, two had dropped out and several attended irregularly. Contributing factors were economic hardship, children’s involvement in family work, limited parental supervision, distance to school, delayed disbursement, incomplete understanding of programme obligations, weak facilitator–village coordination, and inaccurate beneficiary data. PKH implementation was procedurally adequate but not yet effective in sustaining children’s education.
Mini Puspita Sari, Nopriyeni, Adi Asmara Copyright (c) 2026 Mini Puspita Sari, Nopriyeni, Adi Asmara https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/514 Wed, 07 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effect of Emotional Intelligence on High School Students’ Academic Achievement https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/515
Student academic achievement is influenced by various factors, including emotional intelligence. This study aims to investigate the types and patterns of grammatical errors in English paragraph writing, with a particular focus on sentence structure, noun usage, adverbials, and the simple past tense. The study is proposed to be conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Pangsid, Sidenreng Rappang, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative approach is employed using the Surface Strategy Taxonomy, which categorizes grammatical errors into four types: omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. Students' written paragraphs serve as the primary source of data, while error identification, classification, frequency calculation, and percentage analysis are used to examine grammatical error patterns. The original research conducted at SMK PGRI Pekanbaru identified 371 grammatical errors, consisting of 45 omission errors (12.13%), 21 addition errors (5.66%), 303 misformation errors (81.67%), and two misordering errors (0.54%). These findings indicate that misformation was the most dominant grammatical error in the original study, particularly in the use of the simple past tense. However, these results represent the original vocational school participants and cannot be attributed to students at SMP Muhammadiyah Pangsid without additional empirical investigation. The proposed study is expected to provide context-specific insights into grammatical difficulties experienced by junior secondary EFL learners and contribute to the development of more targeted grammar instruction, corrective feedback strategies, and writing activities. E-learning has increasingly become an important component of technology-supported education, enabling teachers and students to access instructional materials through various digital platforms. However, the successful implementation of e-learning depends on teachers' digital competencies, students' technological readiness, the availability of learning facilities, and appropriate instructional strategies. This study aims to explore the implementation of e-learning as a digital learning resource, focusing on teachers' instructional practices, students' learning experiences, and potential challenges at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Baranti, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Indonesia. A descriptive qualitative research design is proposed, employing classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation to investigate the integration of digital learning resources into classroom instruction. The study is guided by three analytical dimensions: teachers' strategies for selecting and utilizing digital resources, students' engagement with technology-supported learning activities, and institutional and individual barriers to e-learning implementation. Data will be analyzed using thematic analysis, supported by triangulation across multiple sources. Previous research suggests that digital learning resources can support instructional flexibility, multimedia-based learning, and learner autonomy, although technological inequalities, limited digital literacy, and insufficient pedagogical guidance may constrain their educational value. These established findings provide the theoretical foundation for the proposed investigation but are not presented as empirical findings from UPT SMP Negeri 3 Baranti. The study is expected to contribute contextual evidence concerning e-learning implementation in Indonesian junior high schools and provide practical recommendations for strengthening teacher professional development, digital resource accessibility, and student-centered instructional practices.
Madaling Madaling, Yusmah, Syamsunir, Handy Ferdiansyah, Nuraini Copyright (c) 2026 Madaling Madaling, Yusmah, Syamsunir, Handy Ferdiansyah, Nuraini https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/558 Sun, 25 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of the Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition (AIR) Learning Model Assisted by the Quizlet Application to Improve Student Learning Outcomes in Sociology in Grade XII Social Sciences 3 at SMAN 4 Mataram https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/555
Low cognitive learning outcomes remain a problem in sociology at the senior high school level. The four indicators also showed a consistent upward trend during the intervention. These findings suggest that PBL was associated with improved learning interest in economics-related IPAS content. The study offers a practical reference for teachers seeking to design more engaging, problem-oriented learning activities in primary schools
Nur Shoviatul Zahro, Iskandar Iskandar, Feby Inggriyani, Sulaeman Sulaeman Copyright (c) 2026 Nur Shoviatul Zahro, Iskandar Iskandar, Feby Inggriyani, Sulaeman Sulaeman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/553 Wed, 28 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Analysis of Interactive Multimedia-Based Scaffolding Media Design through the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) Approach for Students at SMP Negeri 2 Panca Rijang https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/1312-1329
Differences in students' initial abilities, learning characteristics, and individual needs present significant challenges in creating effective, interactive, and student-centered learning environments. This study aims to analyze the design of interactive multimedia-based scaffolding media through the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach as an adaptive learning strategy for students at SMP Negeri 2 Panca Rijang, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Indonesia. The study focuses on integrating scaffolding principles, interactive multimedia applications, and differentiated instructional grouping based on students' actual competency levels. The proposed media design incorporates text, images, audio, videos, animations, and interactive exercises supported by gradually adjusted instructional assistance according to learners' individual needs. The TaRL approach serves as a conceptual framework for identifying students' initial competencies through diagnostic assessments, determining appropriate levels of instructional difficulty, and adapting learning support strategies. The design analysis encompasses several essential dimensions, including content relevance, instructional scaffolding structures, multimedia interactivity, usability, and the potential to enhance students' engagement and independent learning. Integrating scaffolding media with the TaRL approach is expected to produce a more flexible, inclusive, and responsive instructional design that accommodates diverse learning abilities. This study is expected to contribute to the development of digital learning media that emphasize differentiated instruction, gradual learning assistance, and active student participation. Furthermore, the proposed design may provide a foundation for future empirical investigations examining the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of TaRL-based interactive multimedia in improving instructional quality and learning experiences at the junior secondary school level.
Fitriani N, Usman M, Muhammad Takdir, Damayanti Trisnasari, Nurfadillah Copyright (c) 2026 Fitriani N, Usman M, Muhammad Takdir, Damayanti Trisnasari, Nurfadillah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/1312-1329 Thu, 01 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Determining Goals and Aspirations Through Self-Potential Recognition to Plan the Future of Students at SMA Santo Arnoldus Janssen Kupang https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/579
This activity aimed to improve students' understanding of their personal potential and help them connect their abilities and interests with their aspirations and future planning. The activity was conducted at SMA Santo Arnoldus Janssen Kupang on August 10, 2026, involving 33 students from class XD. The method employed was descriptive with a participatory approach, consisting of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activities were carried out through interactive material presentations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and self-reflection. Data were collected through observations and student evaluation sheets comprising 10 indicators, then analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results showed that 93.94% of students stated that the activity helped them plan their future, 90.91% had developed an idea of their aspirations, 87.88% were aware of their personal interests, 84.85% understood their abilities, and 81.82% recognized their strengths. Meanwhile, students' ability to identify the steps needed to achieve their goals reached 69.70%. These findings indicate that the self-potential recognition activity provided a positive contribution to students' understanding of their interests, abilities, aspirations, and future planning. Nevertheless, continuous guidance is still necessary to help students develop their personal potential and formulate more concrete steps toward achieving their future goals.
Yustina Bunga, Rosa Mustika Bulor Copyright (c) 2026 Yustina Bunga, Rosa Mustika Bulor https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/579 Sat, 31 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Identification of Learning Problems Among Grade VIII Students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang: A Qualitative Descriptive Study https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/575
This study aims to analyze the learning problems experienced by Grade VIII students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang based on students’ experiences and teachers’ perspectives. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using interviews with 16 informants consisting of one homeroom teacher, three subject teachers, and 12 Grade VIII students. The data were analyzed thematically by grouping responses into recurring patterns relevant to the research focus. The findings derived from the available informant accounts revealed several issues, namely students’ limited openness in communicating their difficulties, inconsistent classroom participation, procrastination in completing assignments, and family responsibilities that reduce the time and energy available for learning. Some students reported being distracted by recreational activities, while others experienced fatigue after helping their parents at home. These findings indicate that learning problems need to be understood by considering academic factors, study habits, communication, and family context. Guidance and counseling services can support the identification of students’ needs and the development of effective learning strategies and time management skills.
Marselinus Jehari, Wens Nagul Copyright (c) 2026 Marselinus Jehari, Wens Nagul https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/575 Sat, 31 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Comparing Academic Procrastination Between Two Parallel Senior High School Classes https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/580
Academic procrastination lowers academic achievement and is among the guidance needs most frequently reported in senior high school. At SMA Santa Familia Sikumana Kupang, the school counsellor and subject teachers judged grade X-1 students to hand in assignments late more often than grade X-2 students. This study examined whether that judgement is reflected in students' self-reported scores. A quantitative comparative design with total sampling was applied to all students of classes X-1 and X-2. Data from 58 students were collected with an Academic Procrastination Scale adapted from the Pure Procrastination Scale, which showed good internal consistency in this sample (α = .89), and analysed with an independent samples t-test. No significant difference emerged between the two classes, t(56) = −0.35, p = .730, Cohen's d = −0.09, with mean scores of 27.79 for X-1 and 28.59 for X-2. Most students fell into the low and moderate categories, and only four of 58 students fell into the high category. Scale scores therefore do not support the teachers' impression. For guidance and counselling services, these data provide no basis for weighting prevention differently across the two classes, while the late submissions teachers report need to be traced through assignment records.
Jefri Marianus Aprilius Un, Enasely Mega Wenyi Rohi Copyright (c) 2026 Jefri Marianus Aprilius Un, Enasely Mega Wenyi Rohi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/580 Sun, 25 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Nearpod as an Instructional Medium in Improving Science Learning Outcomes among Eighth-Grade Students at SMP Negeri 2 Kulo, Sidenreng Rappang Regency https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/582
This study examined changes in science achievement following Nearpod-supported instruction among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kulo, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involved all 42 students from two intact classes. A 20-item multiple-choice test assessed introductory cell biology, and two five-item binary-response questionnaires described student participation and perceived behavioral changes. For this article, the 42 paired scores in the source thesis were recalculated because its abstract and aggregate table contained inconsistent pretest summaries. The reconstructed mean increased from 44.88 (SD = 15.83) to 85.24 (SD = 4.68), a gain of 40.36 points. All students improved and reached the school’s achievement threshold of 80 at posttest, compared with none at pretest. The normalized gain calculated from the group means was 0.732. An exploratory paired analysis yielded t(41) = 17.30, p < .001, with a mean-gain 95% confidence interval of 35.65–45.07 points. Positive questionnaire responses ranged from 88.10% to 100%, although one item contained an unresolved response-total discrepancy. These findings indicate substantial short-term improvement during Nearpod-supported instruction and favorable student perceptions. However, the absence of a comparison group, incomplete intervention documentation, and unreported test-validation evidence prevent attribution of the improvement specifically to Nearpod. Controlled studies incorporating validated instruments and delayed assessments are recommended.
Jusriani, Muhammad Takdir, Madaling, Syamsunir, Usman M Copyright (c) 2026 Ismaya Ismaya https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/582 Sun, 25 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of an Integrated Curriculum to Strengthen Students’ Character at SMP IT Al Azhar Boarding School Balikpapan https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/583
This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Operational Curriculum at SMP IT Al Azhar Boarding School Balikpapan. Specifically, it examines the integration of the Merdeka Curriculum with the Islamic boarding school curriculum, the implementation of Deep Learning based on the 3M framework (Understanding, Applying, and Reflecting) supported by Information and Communication Technology (ICT), character development through a 24-hour boarding school system, and the effectiveness of multi-stakeholder strategic partnerships. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through passive participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis conducted over six sessions. Research informants were selected through purposive sampling and included the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, subject teachers, dormitory supervisors (musyrif), students, and representatives of strategic partners. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source and methodological triangulation, while data were analyzed interactively through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of the Merdeka Curriculum and the Islamic boarding school curriculum, rooted in the scholarly tradition (sanad) of Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding School, was successfully harmonized within a holistic 24-hour educational system. Furthermore, the implementation of ICT-supported Deep Learning based on the 3M framework was found to enhance students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and metacognitive awareness. Consistent religious practices and continuous dormitory supervision strengthened the achievement of the eight dimensions of the Graduate Profile. Additionally, strategic partnerships with Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding School, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and Teritip Community Health Center contributed significantly to the quality of Islamic education, student discipline, and students’ health and well-being.
Harjono, Hikmah Istiqamah, Vendyah Trisnaningtyas Copyright (c) 2026 Harjono, Hikmah Istiqamah, Vendyah Trisnaningtyas https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/583 Tue, 20 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Using the Edcafe Website in Improving Students’ Learning Outcomes in Visual Arts At UPT SMP Negeri 2 Kulo https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/585

The integration of digital learning platforms into classroom instruction has become increasingly important for improving students' engagement and academic achievement. However, conventional teaching approaches and limited use of interactive learning media continue to present challenges in visual arts education, particularly in facilitating students' understanding of artistic concepts. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Edcafe website in improving students' learning outcomes in Visual Arts at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Kulo, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative approach employing a one-group pretest–posttest design was implemented. The research participants consisted of 42 eighth-grade students from classes VIII.1 and VIII.2, selected through total sampling. Data were collected through achievement tests, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The intervention involved integrating Edcafe into visual arts instruction through digital learning materials, visual presentations, interactive quizzes, and learning assessments. Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted to compare students' achievement before and after the intervention. The findings revealed that the mean pretest score was 49.64, increasing to 86.19 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 36.55 points. The highest posttest score was 95, while the lowest was 80, indicating that all participants achieved the minimum learning achievement criterion of 80. Students also reported positive perceptions of the platform, particularly regarding accessibility, motivation, and understanding of learning materials. These findings suggest that Edcafe-supported instruction was associated with substantial improvements in students' visual arts achievement. Nevertheless, the absence of a control group limits causal interpretation. The study highlights the potential of interactive web-based learning environments to support visual arts education and recommends further controlled investigations to establish their comparative effectiveness.

Almira, Syamsunir, Muhammad Takdir, Abd. A needs assessment (AKPD) in Grade XI D of Santo Arnoldus Janssen Senior High School Kupang identified learning as the dominant problem area (29%). This descriptive qualitative study analyzed the forms, causes, and effects of these problems. Data came from written interviews with ten students and oral interviews with the guidance and counseling (BK) teacher and the homeroom teacher, analyzed thematically with source triangulation. The results showed six themes: difficulty with language and calculation subjects (all ten students), classroom noise and fatigue disrupting concentration (seven), goal-oriented but unstable motivation, inconsistent study habits, uneven teaching delivery, and limited help-seeking (five never told anyone). Some students reported lower grades and confidence. Students emphasized classroom conditions, whereas teachers emphasized discipline and mobile-phone use. Learning problems in this class are multifactorial, rooted in the learning environment as well as in students. Guidance services should combine study-skills training with collaboration among the BK, homeroom, and subject teachers, and with counseling that students find easy to approach.
Cornelia Ervicha Wende Bele, Rosa Mustika Bulor Copyright (c) 2026 Cornelia Ervicha Wende Bele, Rosa Mustika Bulor https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal2.unimen.ac.id/index.php/edumaspul/article/view/564 Thu, 01 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000
