Abstract

This study aims to identify: (1) the stages of Caci dance performance in Wejang Mali Village, East Lamba Leda District, East Manggarai Regency; (2) the cultural values embedded in the Caci dance tradition in Wejang Mali Village, East Lamba Leda District, East Manggarai Regency; and (3) the implications of the cultural values embodied in Caci dance for multicultural counseling programs. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of traditional leaders, community leaders, and young people directly involved in Caci dance performances. Data were collected through interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and data verification, while data validity was established through source triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that Caci dance performances in Wejang Mali Village consist of three stages: preparation, performance, and closing. The cultural values embedded in Caci dance include courage, skill, cooperation, respect, and sportsmanship. These values serve as behavioral guidelines for the community and as a means of transmitting cultural heritage to younger generations. The implications of this study for multicultural counseling suggest that the cultural values embodied in Caci dance can be integrated into guidance and counseling programs through services grounded in local culture. Such integration can foster mutual appreciation, respect for diversity, cooperation, courage in decision-making, and sportsmanship in community life.
